Weekend workshop
NEW! Mastering the Illusions
In times of rapid change, high uncertainty and increased pressure it can be easy to forget that there is more to life than meets the eye. We can become so absorbed in the everyday dramas of work, family and relationships that we lose our ability to see that everything is unfolding perfectly just as it is.
Many spiritual traditions have long taught of the need to see beyond the illusionary quality of this world to perceive the eternal and unbound. Be in the world but not of it is a great and glorious teaching but the question is: how? How can we encounter failure, judgement, separation or any other life challenge without letting it diminish us?
This workshop is an opportunity to explore experientially the 10 Illusions of Humans articulated in the best selling book Communion with God by Neale Donald Walsch. Expanding your understanding will help you to master living with not within the illusions and:
- step away from the "harsh realities" of life to experience your own magnificence
- live in your body with less fear, suffering and disappointment as you relax into enjoying all that life has to offer
- experience the freedom of living your own truth by reclaiming the natural authority you have as a divine being
Seeing the Illusions for what they are
The workshop involves many different activities such as whole group experiential exercises, small group conversations and individual reflection time. We will also have some fun together!
You will receive a full set of custom-designed worksheets and "wisdom notes" to take away. In addition, to help us disconnect from the illusionary stories that keep us feeling small, we will practise quieting the mind and being together in silence using different approaches such as walking in nature and moving the body.
To make the most of being in an area of outstanding natural beauty, on Saturday afternoon we will have an hour long guided walk by local resident Anna Hughes. Anna is an experienced leader of "walks and talks" in the beautiful Shropshire countryside. The walk will help us to deepen our appreciation of the abundance of nature and move beyond the illusion of insufficiency.
The magic of the illusions
On the final evening we will have our very own "Soulful Magic" show performed by priest, magician and author Mark Townsend. Mark’s performances have been described by Uri Geller as "amazing and inspirational". Through experiencing some live magic, we will remind ourselves that mastering the Illusions involves seeing them for what they are: tools with which we can recreate ourselves to be even more magnificent.

"Step out of the illusion, but not away from it. You will know your own magic, and what you know, you will grow. Ever larger will be your idea about your magic, until one day you will understand that you are the magic. Always remember that. You are the magic."
